we had a few problems in which we had to apply the rule of constants which is pretty easy. all it says is that all constants have derivative of zero.
we also did a little bit of work using the power rule which states that when you have a variable you take the exponent and multiply it by whatever is in front of the variable. then, you subtract one from the exponent and leave it there.
for example: x^4 becomes 4x^3. also pretty easy.
we also had a few problems in which we had to use quotient rule which is just a complicated way of deriving a fraction. what you do is you take the derivative of the top and multiply it by the bottom and then you subtract from that the derivative of the bottom multiplied by the top and thats all over the bottom squared.
